The AI Writer puts every Social media studio writing task in one editor. Choose what you need from the 'What would you like to write?' menu: posts, threads, bios and replies for X (Twitter), posts for Threads, LinkedIn and Facebook, Instagram captions, stories and hashtags, TikTok captions, hashtags and bios, LinkedIn headlines and messages, YouTube titles, emails, ad and product copy, alt text, chat messages, usernames, emoji suggestions or group names. Describe your topic in the brief, adjust tone, length or hashtags where the task offers them, and copy one of up to three suggestions. It's free to try: sign in on the Creator plan or above, or start a Creator trial, to write with your plan's AI caption credits.

Choose a task

Each task in the menu has its own built-in instructions, so you do not have to explain the format every time. The tweet task aims for a post under 280 characters, the X bio task for 160 characters, the YouTube title task for a curious, keyword-rich title, and the alt text task for an accurate, concise description written from your own description of the image.

Tasks are grouped by platform: Twitter, Threads, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube, plus Other for emails, product and ad copy, alt text, messages for WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and Slack, usernames, hashtags, emoji suggestions and group names.

Pick the closest match to where the text will appear. A LinkedIn headline and a LinkedIn About section need very different writing, so choose the headline or bio task rather than a general one. You can switch tasks at any time from the same menu.

Write a brief that gets usable results

The brief is the only input: up to 5,000 characters of plain text. There is no file upload, and the AI does not open links or browse the web, so put everything it needs into the box.

A strong brief answers four questions. What is it about? Include the specifics: the product, the offer, the event, the numbers. Who is it for? A first-time buyer and a long-time follower need different words. What should the reader do next? Reply, click, sign up or come to the event. What must it include or avoid? Names, dates, links and words you never use.

For example, 'Instagram caption for our bakery's new sourdough, sold on Saturdays only, for local followers. Mention preorders by Thursday. No puns.' is far more useful than 'bread post'. You can also paste a rough draft into the brief and say what you want changed.

Tone, length and hashtags

The optional settings sit in a collapsed panel under the brief.

Tone is available on every task: Engaging, Humorous, Creative, Sarcastic, Inspirational, Concise, Formal, Friendly, Professional, Witty or Optimistic. It starts on Concise, which suits most social copy. Switch to Professional for LinkedIn or Friendly for customer messages.

Length (Short, Medium or Long) appears only on tasks where length varies, such as captions, threads, emails and ad copy, and it starts on Medium. Fixed-format tasks, like X, Instagram and TikTok bios, headlines, titles, subject lines, usernames and hashtag lists, leave it out.

Hashtags (none, 1, 2 or 3) appear only where tags belong, such as tweets, Instagram and TikTok captions, Instagram stories, LinkedIn and Facebook posts, Facebook stories and YouTube channel descriptions, and start at none. For a full set of tags, use one of the hashtag tasks instead.

From suggestions to a finished post

Each generation returns up to three suggestions, each with its own Copy button. They are plain text, so they paste cleanly into any app; add links, mentions and formatting where you publish.

Treat the suggestions as drafts. Check facts, names, prices and dates, cut anything that does not sound like you, and make sure the text fits the platform's limits. If none of the three is close, improve the brief rather than generating again with the same words: add the missing detail, the audience or an example of the style you want, since each generation uses AI caption credits.

Schedule what you write

Every writing task here is free to try on Creator or a higher plan, including a Creator trial. When a draft is ready to publish, Social media studio can take it the rest of the way: paste it into the post composer, add your media and schedule it to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Threads, YouTube and your other connected accounts. The composer suggests posting times for the accounts you select.

Scheduling needs a Social media studio plan or a 7-day trial, and generating here uses AI caption credits, which come with Creator and higher plans.

Tips for getting the most from this tool

  • Pick the most specific task for where the text will appear.
  • Put the facts, the audience and the action you want in the brief. The AI only knows what you tell it.
  • Change one setting at a time so you can see what each one does.
  • Paste a rough draft into the brief when you want a cleaner version of your own words.
  • Edit the suggestion you choose, and check every fact before you publish.
  • Run long captions and posts through a character counter before you post.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI Writer free?

It's free to try on Creator or a higher plan: sign in or start a Creator trial, and each generation uses the AI caption credits in your plan. Lite doesn't include AI caption credits.

What can the AI Writer write?

More than 30 tasks: posts, threads, bios and replies for X (Twitter); posts for Threads; Instagram bios, captions, stories and hashtags; TikTok captions, hashtags and bios; LinkedIn posts, bios, headlines and messages; Facebook posts, ad copy and stories; YouTube titles, comments and channel descriptions; general, cold and follow-up emails and subject lines; product descriptions and titles; ad copy; alt text; WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and Slack messages; usernames; hashtags; emoji suggestions; and group names.

Can it read images, files or links?

No. The only input is the text brief, up to 5,000 characters. For alt text, describe the image in your own words and the AI writes the alt text from that. It does not browse the web or see live trends.

How many results do I get?

Up to three text suggestions per generation, each with a Copy button. Results are plain text only, with no images, downloads or publishing on this page.

Why do some tasks not show length or hashtags?

Those options appear only where they make sense. Fixed-format tasks such as X and Instagram bios, headlines, titles and usernames have no length setting, and hashtags appear only on tasks where tags belong, such as posts, captions and stories.
