About the integration

Publish scheduled messages, images, videos, and rich embeds to channels in your Discord server. Read server mentions and direct messages, and reply right from your unified inbox.

Why integrate Discord

Discord is where communities actually live and talk. Scheduling announcements and answering members in the same place you run every other channel keeps your community warm without living in the app.

  • Schedule text messages, images, and videos to your channels
  • Post rich embeds with titles, links, and images
  • Read server @-mentions and bot direct messages in your unified inbox
  • Reply to members directly from the inbox without switching apps
  • Reuse the same content across your other connected platforms

How to connect

Connect by installing the Social media studio bot to a server you own or admin, or by pasting an incoming webhook URL from a channel's settings, no password is ever stored.

  1. 1On the Social Accounts page, choose Connect Discord.
  2. 2Install the bot to your server, or paste a channel webhook URL.
  3. 3Pick your channels and start scheduling.

Your data is safe

Bot connections use a Discord application token sent only to Discord's API, and webhook connections store just the channel webhook URL you provide. Credentials are kept server-side and we never store your Discord password.

Use the bot if you want the inbox or to pick channels per post. It posts to any text or announcement channel it can see, up to 10 per post, and brings @mentions, replies to the bot and DMs into your inbox. A webhook posts only to the channel it was made for, under a name and picture you choose, and can't read messages.

Yes, once it can see them. Discord hides a private channel from the bot until you add the bot, or its role, to that channel's permissions. After that the channel appears in the channel list, which shows only the text and announcement channels the bot can view. Forum channels, media channels and threads can't receive scheduled posts.

Not on their own. Social media studio posts the message in your announcement channel but doesn't publish it, and Discord only sends announcements to following servers once they're published. To pass one on, someone with the Manage Messages permission clicks Publish on the message in Discord.

Up to 2,000 characters, Discord's limit for a single message. Social media studio doesn't split a longer post into several messages, so it fails when it's due. Trim it before scheduling. Each post can carry up to 10 images or one video. Long replies you write in the inbox are the exception: they go out as several messages.
