Verified accounts (X Premium) get 25,000 characters.
Tip: URLs always count as 23 characters regardless of length. Hashtags and @mentions count as normal characters.
Tip: No verified/non-verified character difference. Threads doesn't shorten URLs — full URL counts toward limit.
Tip: Captions truncate after ~125 chars in feed view. Hashtags cap at 30 per post. URLs in captions are not clickable.
Tip: Posts truncate with 'See more' after ~210 characters on desktop. First 3 lines (~150 chars) decide click-through.
Every social platform caps how long a post, caption, bio, or title can be. The counter above is live — paste your text once and see how it fits across every platform you publish to. Use the toggle to switch between standard and verified (X Premium) limits.
Going over a limit means your post won't publish at all. Staying under but close to the limit means readers see "...see more" before your hook. Most platforms truncate well below the hard cap — what shows in the feed is often a small fraction of the limit. Hook, value, and call-to-action all need to fit inside that visible slice.
X is the only major platform with a real character-limit difference between standard and paid accounts:
Toggle the "X Premium / Verified" switch above the platform list to see your post measured against the 25,000-character ceiling. Be warned: long-form X posts truncate after the first ~280 chars in the feed with a "Show more" — the first 280 chars still need to stand alone.
Crafting one post that fits every platform's truncation point lets you batch-schedule the same content across X, LinkedIn, Threads, and Instagram with one click — without reformatting per platform. So-me Studio schedules to all 7 major platforms from one editor, auto-reformats for each platform's quirks, and stays free up to 15 posts per month.
280 for standard accounts, 25,000 for X Premium.

Yes — on every platform. Each character in a hashtag (including the # symbol) counts.
