How to connect
Connect with a WordPress Application Password, generate one in your WordPress profile and enter it with your site domain and username; no OAuth app setup required.
- 1On the Social Accounts page, choose Connect WordPress.
- 2Enter your site domain and username, and paste an Application Password from your WordPress profile.
- 3Start scheduling blog posts.
Your data is safe
We authenticate with a WordPress Application Password over HTTP Basic Auth and store it as encrypted credentials used only to publish on your behalf. You can revoke that password anytime from WordPress, and we never store your main account password.

Related integrations
A WordPress 5.6 or newer site with pretty permalinks turned on (any setting except Plain), and an Application Password from a user who can publish posts. WordPress only offers Application Passwords on sites served over HTTPS by default. Social media studio calls the REST API at /wp-json, so connecting fails if a security plugin or your host blocks the REST API or Application Passwords.
Yes. Set the status to Draft in the WordPress options. At the scheduled time Social media studio creates the post as a draft on your site, ready for someone to review and publish in WordPress. Private works the same way but publishes it as a private post that site visitors cannot see.
No. Social media studio does not use WordPress's own scheduling. It keeps the post and sends it to your site at the time you pick, so nothing appears in WordPress before then. Your site needs to be reachable at that moment, and you change the time or the text in Social media studio.
Social media studio uploads it to your WordPress media library and sets it as the post's featured image. It is not placed inside the post body. JPG, PNG, GIF and WebP files up to 64 MB are accepted, but your host's PHP upload limit may be lower, and WordPress then rejects the file.
